The U.S. Tax team in the PricewaterhouseCoopers' Vancouver office is currently seeking an experienced Senior Associate or Manager to join our practice. The group offers effective, innovative strategies to plan and manage taxes to help clients attain optimum results and control compliance costs.
The Opportunity
Here is your opportunity to bring your extensive tax provisions experience to help us build our Vancouver US Tax provision team! We are currently seeking a dynamic, experienced Senior Associate or Manager to join our practice and to provide excellent support and leadership in the area of tax provisions, planning, and compliance. Your strong US Tax provisions experience with public companies, knowledge of FAS109 and AS12 coupled with your expertise in financial accounting for income tax purposes will be put to great use as you work with our multinational clients.
You will assume a high degree of responsibility and exposure within the firm as well as have the opportunity to concentrate your efforts on US corporate tax provision support, tax consulting, tax planning issues and providing industry knowledge and technical expertise to clients in a variety of industries.
Key Responsibilities
As a Tax Senior Associate or Manager you will work in the US Tax group to apply your knowledge in the following activities:
Provisions: Draft reports summarizing audit processes and issues associated with tax provisions; Audit/review tax provisions and prepare complex tax provision; and,Review and prepare FIN48 and AS12 documentation.
General: Be highly involved in numerous Canada/US cross border tax issues; Supervise and mentor junior U.S. Tax staff; Identify and implement new U.S. Tax consulting engagements; and, Advise Canadian based companies on the tax implications of US domestic operations in order to obtain an optimal tax minimization strategy.
Senior Associate Profile
Minimum of two years public practice experience with exposure to corporate tax work (specifically in the area of provisions);
CPA, CA or CMA, or completion of the Masters of US Tax is an asset; and,
Two to three years of work experience in U.S Corporate Income Tax, which includes experience in preparation of US federal and state income tax returns, tax research and consulting.
Manager Profile
CA, CPA, CMA, completion of the Masters of U.S. Tax is an asset;
Five or more years of experience in advising companies on their federal tax issues in the areas of tax planning, provisions and compliance;
Strong in the review and preparation of complex tax provisions, including FAS109 and AS12;
Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple assignments;
Strong corporate and international tax skills;
Superior problem solving skills, excellent verbal, written and presentation skills;
Strong analytical capability, sound business sense and creative mind that have earned you a reputation of providing excellence in client service;
Strong team player with effective interpersonal skills;
Powerful motivator and effective coach to those who work with you; and,
Skilled at managing existing clients and seeks opportunities to take on business development activities.
