This team within a leading bank is responsible for the delivery and oversight of tax services for specific lines of business and associated clients. They are dedicated to providing tax services by acting in a consultative role to ensure clients understand implications of technical tax legislation and subsequent changes / updates to such, while also helping to mitigate tax risks within the lines of business and locations. In certain cases, the team will liaise with our partners in other areas of the organisation in order to execute these services.
Specifically, the team:
Monitor and communicate tax changes and their implications across markets, products, and regions to business and clients
Understand and manage the tax implications of new products, services, or client groups
Design and maintain tax components of certain products and related system changes
Support Operations, Product, Risk Management and Sales in understanding and mitigating areas of tax risk across the business
Translate tax law / policy / rule changes into system requirement / changes as well as production of tax season mailings and filings
Engage in industry representative efforts related to the introduction of new or amending tax legislation and associated administrative procedures
The position will give the successful candidate exposure to a wide array of products and will offer many interesting and challenging opportunities.
Specifically, the ideal candidate will oversee tax developments in the EMEA region, perform global research relative to EMEA countries / markets in which clients hold portfolio assets.
Key responsibilities will include:
Maintaining all internal / external materials reflecting current state of EMEA local law, treaty, including entity level taxation of various investment vehicles
Providing tax technical support for the businesses, products and clients
Drafting of policies, tax product materials
Assisting the business areas in managing and mitigating tax risk
Partnering with Corporate Tax, Legal, Product and Sales / New Business teams to develop new tax products and create business proposals for clients and prospects
