In London, their market leading export control team is the global centre of excellence for export controls and the largest and most experienced amongst the Big 4 Professional Services Firms, with a global reputation for its quality and expertise. All team members are experienced in US export controls and extra-territorial restrictions, as well as local and regional export regulations, with particular emphasis on EU controls.
The practice includes lawyers, accountants/auditors, customs brokers, economists, former government officials, and industry specialists.
The candidate
- Possesses and applies a deep export control expertise (e.g. ITAR, EAR, and OFAC regulations, the EU dual-use, national Member State dual-use and military export regulations).
- Demonstrates deep knowledge/expertise in one or more client industries.
- Anticipates changes in export control laws and regulations and provides advice on the impact/implications for clients.
- Understands and applies knowledge of automated tools, such as SAP GTS
- Focuses strongly on generating leads and shows the ability to make appropriate contacts. Finds innovative and flexible ways to identify and pursue new sales opportunities.
- Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of market trends and competitors' activities, analyses clients and their needs, and identifies opportunities.
- Takes a well thought out and logical approach to penetrating the market and selling value-added services.
- Experience with global export control regulations, to include US and Europe (including dual-use, military controls, sanctions, and WMD-related controls)
- Previous experience or equivalent in a senior management role/related capacity.
- Experience in managing teams (including global experience).
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Strong knowledge of trade automation and leading practices in compliance
- Exceptional people management skills, including ability to lead and influence others, including managing upward expectations with Senior Management.
- ACA/CTA/ATT qualified or equivalent
- Regular international travel required as part of the role
