* Identifying securities tax exposures and tax exposures relating to the legal and operating structure of the funds and their investment manager group on a global basis;
* keeping the investment team updated on any changes in the rules across the various jurisdictions; and,
* developing processes to assess whether appropriate controls are in place to ensure that any exposure is at an acceptable level and compliance obligations are met.
The role would include:
* creation of a tax risk management framework within the existing initial risk analysis undertaken when taking on a new manager for a MAC or when investing in a third party fund which would identify the cultural attitude to tax risk; quality assessment of the management of that risk; and, material tax exposures.
* Creation of risk procedures to identify any changes which could impact the tax risk assessment of an investment.
* Define roles and responsibilities within the risk manager group for identifying tax risk and develop training to enable non tax specialists to fulfil these roles

* provide the interaction between the tax department and the risk management team
The successful candidate should have:
* strong communication, presentational and interpersonal skills and should be confident dealing with senior management
* strong international tax technical background with an ability to translate often complex rules into practical guidelines which may be applied and understood by non tax specialists
* an ability to quickly integrate into the business and work well within a team and with advisers
* initiative, drive and a proven ability to deliver
Industry and securities knowledge would be an advantage as would due diligence experience
