Job Description
The Corporate Tax Manager is responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of the Consolidated and separate company federal tax returns, tax provisions, federal estimated taxes and extensions based upon the collection and analysis of the company financial information from various profit centers. The manager's responsibilities duties will be to:
•Review and prepare assigned federal corporate and flow-through tax returns
•Review the quarterly estimated federal income tax and extension
•Review assigned provision to return adjustments and significant variances
•Review and analyze the current and deferred income tax payable rollforward schedules and reconcile to the tax accounts in the general ledger
•Review assigned Statutory and GAAP tax balance sheets to independent verification
•Perform research, analysis, and planning on federal tax issues
•Assist in developing responses to federal audits and tax notices
Required Skills
•Degree in accounting
•6+ years of experience within public or public/private insurance
•Strong knowledge of FAS 109
•Familiarity with PeopleSoft
•Knowledge of corporate tax and compliance
